Hello, I’m Samuel, a trainee psychotherapist
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and registered member of BACP.

Transactional Analysis
I practice Transactional Analysis which seeks to understand the interactions that occur between people so that clients might better understand the historical basis of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. TA theory professes that we are all okay, we all have the ability to think and we all have the ability to change.

I have worked with children and adults with autism, special educational needs and disabilities for the past five years and love to enrich people’s lives. I find it so rewarding to work with those in need. It is a real privilege to witness people learn and grow and I gain great satisfaction in knowing that I am helping them to do this. I also appreciate the opportunity to help them to build relationships and promote their independence and self-reliance. I am passionate about helping those in need to reach their potential. These skills I believe are perfect for great therapist.

I take pride in the fact that I am somebody who is very empathic, accepting and respectful of others and their experiences and I find that this makes people feel confident to share their worries and concerns with me as they know that I will not judge them or make them feel uncomfortable.

I firmly believe in inclusion and diversity and that everyone, no matter of background, culture, race or religion should have access to counselling, as we all need somebody to talk to and share our problems with. This is something vitally important to me as I feel it a tragedy that some people cannot access help if they cannot afford to do so. Therefore, I also offer low cost therapy for lower income clients.

I believe in an integrative approach to TA, which means that I integrate other psychotherapy approaches into my practice. One such area that I believe can be greatly beneficial to clients is an understanding called the Three Principles. Which, like TA helps clients to focus on the here and now and not to become consumed or limited by their habitual thinking.
